The Future Is Now (with a Lot of AI):

Written by Marci Parker | May 6, 2025 8:00:29 PM

Live from ServiceNow Knowledge25, where 25,000 attendees gathered to witness the AI revolution—again. If you had “AI” in your keynote bingo card, you probably won... in the first 10 seconds.

Here’s the headline:
Bill McDermott dropped some bold predictions (and a few mic-drop quotes) about the future:

  • The AI-driven service economy represents a $22 trillion global opportunity by 2030
  • AI will help organizations slash $4 trillion in operational expenses
  • And in case you're still comparing this to the last big tech wave—Bill made it clear:
"Bigger than the internet, mobile, and cloud computing combined."

No pressure, right?

But he didn’t stop there—he also warned that the cost of losing a customer has tripled over the past decade. So yes, that “we’ll get back to you soon” email? It’s expensive now.

The big unveil: ServiceNow AI Platform

It’s official. ServiceNow has launched its AI Platform (cue dramatic music). While details were a bit high-level, here’s what we know:

  • AI Agent Orchestrator – Think maestro, but for AI bots
  • AI Agent Studio – A creative sandbox to build and deploy AI agents
  • AI Control Tower – One cockpit to govern AI at scale (yes, even those outside of ServiceNow)
  • AI Agent Fabric – Native and third-party AI agents working together like a high-functioning team chat—minus the gifs

Chief Product Officer Amit Zavery summed it up:

"ServiceNow is the engine driving the future of autonomous work."

There’s a clear message here: AI isn’t a layer on top. It’s in the platform’s DNA now.

Final Thoughts
Agentic AI is the new buzzword, and it's aiming to reduce the number of siloed applications by turning your data foundation into an intelligent, adaptable system. Basically, your 20th-century apps are about to get a 21st-century glow-up.
